Rock Knock Fest

The ‘Jetlagged Inc’, Nagaland is organizing a Youth festival titled ‘Rock Knock Fest’ on the 30th March 2011 at Kohima Local ground. The event has been conceptualized by a group of like-minded people who have a collective calling towards improving the lifestyles of our youth, by providing them with an opportunity to get the right direction in career and helping them to live a more responsible life in the society. Talking to media persons during a press conference held here today, Dr. Tolto Metha, said, “According to the Human Development Index, Nagaland if the fourth most youthful city in India. This year alone we will have about 20,000 young people who would have appeared for their metric/final exams etc and who would be whiling away their time in unproductive activity. This event is specially aimed at providing a platform where students will benefit from the resource persons who will be coming from different fields, institutes and NGOs”.  
The event aims to propagate healthy and ambition guided sense of living among the youth through rock music and subject professionals. It also aims at motivating the youth, especially the students from various schools, colleges around the city, to be catalysts for positive social change and, become building blocks of a healthier and stronger society. The resource persons for the event are Mr. Niketu Iralu who will talk about social reforms, Mr. Pfheluophelie Kesiezie who will tackle education and career, Ate Kevichusa who will talk about show business and the scope for young people in show business and Pastor Shan Kikon who will talk about ‘positive values’. Informing that the ‘festival’ will not turn into a ‘seminar’, Dr Metha added that the festival will have an equal balance of good music and motivating talks!
Music being one something that draws any Naga youth, ‘Jetlagged’ plans to bring the ‘in bands of today’ who can inspire and encourage the youth. Through this fest the organizers hope to educate and spread awareness on various issues that will foster a positive sense of living in the society. The bands which will be performing are Black Rose (who will be joined by Menguse Suokhrie), OFF, Eximous and Grafitti.  Dr. Tolto also added that they have had positive responses from the principals of various schools/colleges Volunteers for the event includes church youth and the scout and guides. The Event Director is Dr. Tolto Metha, the Event Coordinator is Miss. Kevi Shurohzelie and the Event Secretary is Miss.Asen Jamir. The tickets are priced at a very reasonable rs20 to enable the youth and also the music lover to come and participate in the rock festival. The tickets will be sold at the venue and will be available at Dream Café. Big Bite, Ozone café and also with authorities of all schools and colleges.
