After successfully organizing Rock Knock Fest earlier this year, Jetlagged Inc once again brings Rock-X featuring Menwhopause from New Delhi and local talents to hit the state capital at the old DC Bungalow- The Heritage this evening.
Menwhopause who are also internationally acclaimed, a prominent band from New Delhi is reported to have expressed their desire to perform in Nagaland in the hopes of promoting their latest album-Easy, to create a fan base in the state and also to introduce a new taste of music like Psychedelic rock to the Naga music lovers.
Speaking to its event media partner, The Morung Express, Member Jetlagged Inc, Dr. Tolto Metha disclosed that perhaps Menwhopause are not so popular in the north eastern region, who usually performs in lounges, hotels, clubs etc which is not regular in Nagaland.
“A first of its kind show for the Menwhopause and also for us, featuring in different environment, a semi-indoor setting, not very big crowd but whoever has heard about them can come and enjoy”, said Metha.
He said the main idea behind the event is that it is a promotional event at the same time Jetlagged Inc wanted to promote music industry in collaboration with the Music industry taking place in the main land India. Metha appealed to all the music lovers to join them where Black Rose from Kohima, Anagenisis will also perform live on stage and can also interact with the band members after the show.
ManwhoPause comprises of five members who are said to be well matured in their own style of music and will perform Psychedelic an alternative rock in a new style during the concert. The band was formed in 2001 by guitarist Anup Kutty with an original lineup of singer/songwriter Sarabjit Chadha and acoustic guitarist Inder Pal Singh (IP). The trio became a full fledged band after recruiting bassist Randeep Singh and drummer Rahul Chatterjee. In a country where popular music is dominated with commercial Bollywood music and the live rock music scene is generally full of cover bands, Menwhopause stuck to playing original compositions and were one of the first bands in India to distribute their music for free over the internet.
The album artwork for Easy was done by award-winning art director Abhishek Dey who has been a regular with the band having designed the layouts for the band's first album. With around 350 seat capacity for the show, sources revealed that response is very positive and still expressed hope that the show will be a fun filled event.
Ticket are available at The Heritage and Star Mart, jail colony, priced at Rs 300/.
