
Kohima, June 29 (MExN): In a bid to promote and hone the skills of Naga musicians in the various genres of contemporary music, the Symphony School of Rock in collaboration with International Rockschool, India today organized a seminar on a comprehensive clinic for guitar, piano and drum players in varied genres of contemporary music at Vizo Solo complex, Jail colony Kohima on Friday, June 28.
The Rockschool team was led by Jack Thomas, Director of Rockschool India alongwith Reuben Narian, a jazz drums educator and performer from Berklee College of Music; Baskar Gurung, grade 8 graduate in guitars from Rockschool London and Prabir Sekhri,a classical and contemporary piano educator. The workshop was attended by about 84 musicians which included members from Divine Connection and Off. Rockschool had earlier in the day conducted workshops at the Hope Centre of Excellence and Note Grid School of Music before the Kohima workshop.
The Symphony School of Rock & Cafe, will be formally inaugurated in the 1st week of July admissions for courses in piano/keyboard, guitar (acoustic/electric/bass) drums, vocal, violin, cello, vocal, classical guitar, music theory, staff notation/tonic solfa for beginners/advanced individual or group have been opened.
