The National Highway (NH) 29 at Chümoukedima, Dimapur was blocked on Sunday evening after a rockslide occurred once again. According to the police, the rockslide occurred around 5:00-5:30 pm in between the Chümoukedima police checkpost and the Chathe river irrigation dam.

The rockslide was suspected to have been the after effect of blasts for the Dimapur-Kohima 4 lane road project currently underway.

The police described the debris from the slide as quite extensive and that it would likely take the entire night to clear it.
Commuters were advised to take the diversionary route via 7th Mile to Medziphema to Kohima and Peren.
