Rockslide blocks NH-29 at Nagaland ‘Welcome Gate'; traffic partially restored

The National Highway-29 was completely blocked for sometime due to rockslide at the Nagaland ‘Welcome Gate’ near Patkai Bridge, Chümoukedima, according to police. Vehicular traffic, however, was partially restored later. 

 “NH 29 blocked by a rockslide at the Welcome Gate near Patkai Bridge, Chümoukedima,” the Dimapur Police official Twitter handle informed at 5:14 PM Monday everning. 

However, after an hour or so, the district police updated that vehicular traffic has been partially restored. 

“Vehicle traffic has been partially restored at the rockslide affected area near Patkai Bridge on NH 29,” stated the update. 

Heavy construction activities are going on near the area in connection with the ongoing four-laning of NH-29 from Dimapur to Kohima.
