Kohima, April 26 (MExN): Residents of Rokabozou Colony, Kohima observed World Malaria Day on the theme ‘End Malaria for Good’. The programme was jointly organized by the Colony Panchayat, Youth and the team at Urban PHC, Seikhazou.
The programme started with a key note address and welcome note by Colony chairman and a brief awareness session by Dr. Aomeren Longkumer MO, UPHC Seikhazou. He emphasized the need to keep the surroundings clean in order to stop mosquito breeding and highlighted various emerging diseases caused by mosquito bites. He also mentioned the importance of timely medical intervention in case of any fever like symptoms. A sanitation drive was later conducted in and around the colony.
During the programme, blood samples were collected from the residents for further investigation and validation. Dr. Aomeren, in his closing remarks, urged the colony leaders to take up sanitation and cleanliness issues collectively and make it an ongoing process to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
