Rotary Club Dimapur inaugurates Twin Projects

Rotary Club of Dimapur inaugurates Vocational Training Centre-Tailoring Unit in association with Micro Development Society at Lahorijan on March 27. Earlier, it had also inaugurated an Adult Literacy Camp.
 
Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): Rotary Club of Dimapur inaugurated Twin Projects - Adult Literacy Camp and Vocational Training Centre-Tailoring Unit in association with Micro Development Society at Lahorijan on March 27, 2011. Rotarians, Annes, Rotarylets, large numbers of villagers, members of Micro Development Society, beneficiaries and school students were present in the function.
A press note issued by Rtn Sanjay Kumar Jain, president stated that during the adult literacy camp, Rotary Club of Dimapur distributed slates, books, stationeries, and Educational calendars.  The target age group will be from 25 to 60 years for both male and female. Altogether, 48 persons will benefit from the Adult Literacy Camp. The camp will focus on reading, writing and counting both in Hindi and English language. Two teachers were deputed to take classes for six days in a week for two hours in the afternoon.also, a vocational training centre, was inaugurated by Rotary Club of Dimapur and provided two Sewing Machines along with necessary materials to run the centre. Altogether 18 women will benefit from this centre. This will enable them to earn their livelihood after the training.  
The note also mentioned that on this function, RC Dimapur also distributed school routine printed with ‘Four Way Test’ to the students of Gyan Bharti School, Lahorijan.
On this occasion Students of school performed various dances, president Rtn Sanjay Kumar Jain welcomed all Rotarians, villagers, beneficiaries and highlighted about Rotary projects like Gift of Life, Polio eradication program, Insurance to school students and many more. Rtn Pradip Jain (Sr), Assistant Governor Zone IX RID 3240 addressed the gathering and requested to avail the opportunity & get benefit from both the centres to earn their livelihood. Rtn Rajesh Kumar Jain, Director Vocational Service and Rtn Tikaram Dhakal, Director Community Service also spoke on the occasion.
