Kohima, October 13 (MExN): The Rotary Club of Kohima (RCK) has launched various Rotary Livelihood projects during the visit of District Governor Dr Kushanava Pabi, RID 3240 (2022-23) to Kohima on October 10.
The RCK in association with Rotary Club of Delhi South East, RID 3011, supported by RNB Project Aspire and Today to Eternity Foundation, has launched various projects in and around Kohima to mark Rotary year 2022-23 “Empowering Women and Girls.”
A livelihood projects for women and girls in piggery, poultry, organic farming have been launched.
The foundation stone for construction of eight washrooms at College of Arts & Technology, Nerhe- Phezha was laid by Rtn. Neeraj Bhatnagar.
The District Governor also launched Rotary Free Tailoring Training Centre, Cherryland, Kohima village. In this, 20 students will be trained wherein 10 sewing machines was sponsored by Neeraj Bhatnagar.
Later, delivering speech at the function held at Hotel de Oriental Grand, Kohima on October 10, Dr. Pabi said the vision of the Rotary is to bring people together to unite and take actions for the welfare of the people.
RCK President Prof Rosemary Dzüvichü said that since Naga society was a patriarchal society, the club wanted to give more focus on women and girls. RCK will be taking up 20 piggery, 50 poultry and 50 organic farming projects, she said.
In the first phase, 12 beneficiaries under piggery, poultry and organic farming units have been selected. RCK is also looking forward for more partners from across the globe so that the club will be able to take up more projects, she added.
