‘Rally of Nagaland,’ the Round 4 of Blueband FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship 2022 will take place in Nagaland from January 12 to 14, 2023.
The FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) is the premier rallying series in India run under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).
The 2022 season is extended till January 31, 2023. The next, new session would basically start from February to December 2023.
Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) in partnership with Government of Nagaland will host this mega motor sports event for the first time in Nagaland.
The Championship will be held under the aegis of Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) with Blueband Sports as chief promoter.
40 plus drivers from across India to join
Premnath K of Blueband Sports, Chief promoter INRC told the press conference here today at Crescent International Hotel, that 40 drivers from all over India are expected to join this Round 4 of INRC.
The championship will witness prominent drivers like Gaurav Gill, Karna Kadur, Aditya Thakur, Fabid Ahmer, Chetan Shivram etc.
We had the first leg of the rally in Chennai, 2nd round in Coimbatore, 3rd round in Bengaluru and now 4th round in Nagaland, which is happening for the first time in Nagaland, he said.
“We are planning to have 2023 championship in Nagaland,” he said.
Nagaland govt supports INRC
“NAC is privileged to host this event with the support from the state government,” said NAC convenor Peter Rutsa.
We (NAC) have met Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio this morning, who is very supportive towards the youth activities and especially in bringing new things to our people and our state, he said.
Rio has assured his support and participation of the state government to this INRCt, Rutsa said.
He said the NAC along with the collaborators and state machineries will put its best effort to make the event a grand success.
Qualifying round for NE drivers
The NAC along with the collaborators will be holding the qualifying round for drivers of the North Eastern states from January 8 to 9.
It will be opportunity for Nagaland and NE drivers to qualify for sponsorship as well as well as entry into in 2023 INCR.
So far, 13 drivers have been registered, Rutsa said.
North East Talent Hunt
NAC president Burakum Ao said that NAC have slot for 30 drivers for the North East Talent Hunt, which will be given opportunity only to NE drivers.
Till date, it has received registration from Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Assam.
The champion of North East Talent Hunt will be granted wild card entry into 2023 INCR, he said.
Rally route
The rally will be held along NEC road in two days (January 13 and 14) and will cover 130 km (To and fro). The first stage will be from Jotsoma to Dzulekie (January 13) and other from Kohima- Bypass road to Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima (January 14).
Rutsa informed that the district administration and traffic police has assured to assist the traffic regulation during the rally stage.
Meanwhile, the screening of vehicles for participants will be done on January 12.
