Rounding of basic pay under ROP

Kohima, March 26 (DIPR): The Finance Department Establishment Branch (ROP Cell) in an office memorandum issued on 5th March 2012 stated that as per the provisions under Rule-11 of the Nagaland Service (ROP) Rules, 2010 the basic pay as worked out after grant of increment in the new Pay Band shall be rounded to the next multiple of Rs. 10/-. In this connection it is hereby clarified that in the process of such rounding in the calculation of increment under the revised pay structure, paisa should be ignored, but any amount of a rupee or more should be rounded off to next multiple of 10. For example, if the amount of increment works out to Rs. 1900.70 paisa then the amount will be rounded off to Rs. 1900/-. But if the amount of increment works out to Rs. 1901/-, then it will be rounded off to Rs. 1910/-. All departments are requested to bring this to the notice of their subordinate offices for information and guidance.
