THE FIRST ‘Routine Immunization Week’ in Nagaland will be held from 30th January – 4th February where all children from the ages 0-1 and all pregnant women in all villages and habitations are to be immunized.
Immunization will be held in all hospitals and health centers, including additional sites whenever required. District Immunization Officer (DIO) will lead the teams in every district.
In this connection, all organizations, groups and individuals like Government departments, public leaders, church leaders, NGOs and parents have been requested to come forward to help out in:
• Identifying eligible children (0-1) and pregnant women in every village, area, habitation.
• Informing all parents about the schedule of immunization week and its detail.
• Helping to organize the immunization camps on the fixed days and
• Taking children and pregnant women to the immunization sites on the fixed days.
According to Deputy Director (IEC) RR Chasie, as part of the endeavor of National Rural Health Mission, a special drive under the banner ‘Routine Immunization Week’ is being organized all over the Northeastern States during January, February and March 2006.
