
Maligaon, October 24 (MExN): As part of the ongoing ‘Martyrs Week’, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has paid tribute to 14 of its personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year.
To honour these brave individuals, RPF officers are visiting their alma maters and native villages across nine states, as stated in an official release. The Director General of RPF remarked that each of these heroes exemplified the highest ideals of service and sacrifice, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations to uphold the safety and security of railways and its passengers.
Among those honoured is Late P. Biswakarma, Ex-IPF/CIB/New Jalpaiguri from the Northeast Frontier Railway, who made the ultimate sacrifice while performing his duties. A memorial service was held at his alma mater, in the Community Hall of Jatiya Shakti Sangha & Pathagar at Champasari, Siliguri, conducted by RPF personnel.
Across India, the RPF is holding similar commemoration programs in native villages and schools to honour the martyrs, spanning various regions of the nation, the release added.
