RPF rescues 26 children in a fortnight

Maligaon, November 3 (MExN): Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railway has rescued almost 26 minor boys and girls from railway premises during the period between October 15-30.   On October 22, Asst Sub Inspector, Makunda Deka along with a head constable and lady constable of Child Protection and Detection Squad (CPDS) while checking in DN (Kamrup Express), rescued two minor boys and one girl namely, Nirmal Sabar (17, Prem Chand Beg (17) and Kushi Tani, (14) and handed over to Sachin Tanti, a release from CPRO Pranav Jyoti Sharma informed.   In another case, the RPF, while checking Goalpara Town railway station, rescued two runaway minor girls namely Maushmi Begum (13) and Moushmi Khatun (13). The rescued girls were handed over to their parents after proper identification.   During current year up to October, RPF has rescued nearly 700 children from railway premises as well as from running trains.  17 traffickers were also arrested during this period and actions were taken as per rule, the release also informed.
