Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): The Razeba Public Organisation (RPO) has urged firms and contractors involved in the construction of the PMGSY road from Pfutsero to Chilo (Kilo) to ensure quality work, emphasizing that the 15-kilometre stretch is a long-cherished aspiration of the local community.
In a statement, the RPO highlighted that the road serves as the sole lifeline for the Razeba area, connecting villages such as Zelome, Zhavame, and Tsupfume, the latter two being designated as vegetable villages. The connectivity is vital for transporting agricultural produce and essential commodities. Additionally, the route, which borders Manipur, is a crucial link for inter-state trade and serves as a gateway to Phek district.
The organisation also called upon the Razeba community and local leaders to cooperate in the road's construction and to consider the project a priority. It further appealed to individuals, organisations, and factions, including the NSCN-IM (Kapamodzii), not to obstruct the progress of the work in any manner.
Asserting its commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure, the RPO warned that any attempt to hinder the project would face strict action.
