The last date for withdrawal of candidatures for Biennial Election to the Council of States 2016 for Nagaland as per notification is on Monday (March 14).
It may be mentioned that nomination papers in favour of KG Kenye, sponsored by Naga People’s Front (NPF) from Nagaland has been found valid after scrutiny on Saturday.
“K.G Kenye is the only candidate who filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat in Nagaland,” an official of State Assembly Secretariat said on Friday.
The lone Rajya Sabha seat from Nagaland fell vacant following the death of the sitting Member, Khekiho Zhimomi in November last.
Rajya Sabha polls for Nagaland has been scheduled for March 21.
