Rüsoma Orange Festival 2024 generates over Rs 30 lakh

A two day long 4th edition of Rüsoma Orange Festival 2024 concluded today at Rüsoma village in Kohima district.

Rüsoma Orange Festival spokesperson Kekhrie Pfukha told The Morung Express that the festival registered a resounding success and expressed happiness that it keeps improving year after year.

He informed that around Rs 34 lakh has been generated through this festival.

Rüvuosielie Theünuo got an award for sweetest orange. Vakhriezo Zhale received an award for heaviest orange as well as the best stall award. Vikuolie Keyiencu bagged an award for biggest quantity stall.

The festival registered 1800 visitors on the first day and almost 1600 visitors on second day.

This festival brought the orange growers, entrepreneurs and community together and celebrated the bountiful harvest of orange this year. The village has 28,700 number of non bearing orange trees (Orange sapling trees under plantation) and 14,100 bearing trees at present.

The closing ceremony was led by Azha Mezhü while vote of thanks was proposed by Visier Vimera, Convenor of Rüsoma Orange Festival 2024.

Mentionably, Nagaland Horticulture & Women Resource Development Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse graced opening function on January 24 as the special guest.
