RSU appeals State Govt to rectify SSA teachers’ appointment issue

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 21 (MExN): The Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) today condemned the Nagaland Government’s handling of the agreement signed between  the School Education Department and the Nagaland Sarva Shikha Abhiyan Teachers' Association (NSSATA), NSF & ENSF on June 12, 2018 and expressed displeasure at the lackadaisical attitude of the state government towards resolving the matter despite a lapse of over two years.

A press release from RSU President, Heiko Kent and General Secretary, Kegwalo Magh said that point 3 of the agreement had stated that the School Education Department would rectify the nature of appointment of SSA teachers of 2010 & 2013 batch.

As per the office memorandum vide no. CAB-2/2013 (Pt) issued by the Cabinet's Secretariat on October 5, 2018 which notifies of the Cabinet's decision in principle to bring the teachers of SSA & RMSA 2010 & 13 batch into the mainstream of the School Education cadre, the union appealed to the State Government to implement the agreement in letter and in spirit.

The RSU said that it has observed the “plight of the aggrieved party which has created untold hindrances and mass inconveniences in the teaching-learning process over the past years.” Further considering the “nature of damages inflicted upon the aggrieved teachers,” the RSU reaffirmed its support to the joint ultimatum issued by NSF & ENSF against the State Government and called upon the concerned authority in immediately resolving the matter without further delay.
