Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): A sensitization-cum-interactive session with Chief Information Commissioner and RD Department PIOs & APIOs was held on June 14 at the RD Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima.
A press note issued by K. Neibou Sekhose, Assistant Director (Publicity) RD stated that the Chief Information Commissioner, Lalhuma, who also released the RTI Act 17 Manual Version 05, 2011, congratulated the Department and at the same time challenged the Officers that they should strive for innovative ways in bringing development at the grassroot level. The session was chaired by Director, RD, Metsubo Jamir, and welcome address was delivered by V. Sakhrie, Commissioner & Secy. RD. PowerPoint on the Department and the implementing schemes were presented by RD Director and SIRD Director, Limasenla.
Lalhuma, who was accompanied by State Commissioner, Kevineino Meru, also gave a presentation on RTI, stressing on the rules and importance of the Act, powers and functions of the PIOs and APIOs. Later, the HODs along with the PDs and BDOs and other Officers of RD and SIRD participated in the Interactive Session, where queries were put forth and challenges and problems in implementing the RTI Act were discussed.
