Run For Fit India Movement held in Ahthibung

Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) members, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles and students from various schools and colleges after the health drive held on October 1 in Ahthibung, Peren district.
Peren, October 6 (MExN): Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) in collaboration with Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles, St Xavier College, Veterinary College Jalukie, PHC Ahthibung, National Vector Borne Diseases Control Program, District Aids Prevention Control Unit and AYSU observed a health drive.
Held on the theme “Run For Fit India Movement,” a 2.5 km run, free medical camp , veterinary camp and awareness lectures on Swachta Abhiyan, Child Abuse , early marriage issues and environmental protection were conducted during the event.
Run for Fit India Movement is a unique combination of picking up litter while jogging/running by runners, a press release from ARC stated.
A total of 310 students from St Xavier College, Veterinary College, GHS Ahthibung and GMS Ahthibung alongside the locals were part of the event.
Free medical tests, Checkups and door to door deworming kits distribution was part of the drive. Villagers from nearby villages also availed benefit of medical and veterinary check up. A total 287 patients and 148 pets were treated and given medicines.
A lady doctor from Assam Rifles and Dr Vezokholu Khamo led the camp alongside a team of veterinary doctors from Veterinary College Jalukie. Ahthibung Cultural Club and Childline Peren conducted lectures on child abuse and impact of early marriage trend in youth.
During the lectures, attendees were briefed about the advantages of good health and proper sanitation by an officer representative from Assam Rifles battalion.
General public was also informed about various government schemes like Aayushman Bharat, Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojna, PMSSY, Indradhanush Mission, Rashtriya Baal Swasthya Yojna and Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
