Rural Haat inaugurated in Sakraba

Kohima, May 12 (MExN):  The Sakraba Rural Haat funded by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was inaugurated in  Sakraba, Phek on May 11  by Tiakala Ao, General Manager NABARD, RO Dimapur.

Speaking on the occasion, Tiakala underlined that the main visions of NABARD are to act as  the development bank of the nation for fostering rural prosperity; to promote sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development through participative financial and non-financial intervention, innovations, technology; and institutional development for securing prosperity. 

The Rural Haat has been made disabled friendly making it accessible for wheelchair passageways, emphasising eco-friendly and a traditional hut constructed by the village council for the weary travelers to rest with a facility of pay-and-use toilet, she added. 

The programme was chaired by Zecheteu Nusory while a welcome address was given by Nezelu Nyekha, and Sakraba denizens presented a folk tune.

As per the State DIPR, short speeches were also given by Phuniang SDO(C) Pfutsero, Nehusa VCC Sakraba, VizonuoPienyii BDO Chizami, and a vote of thanks was proposed by Reka Mero.
