Zunheboto, October 22 (MExN): A Block Level Sensitization Programme on Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) RD Block Akuhaito, Zunheboto under the department of Rural Development was held at public hall, Akuhaito town on October 22.
Speaking at the programme, P Ghokheli Shohe, Block Program Manager (BPM), Akuhaito highlighted the overview of NRLM.
She also spoke on the significance of NRLM programme for rural poor.
Tokuho N Sumi, Area Coordinator elucidated the SGSY & NRLM in brief. The AC however, highlighted the cause of the failure of the SGSY and also briefed the progress, strategies and goals of the NRLM.
District Coordinator MIS, Hiuto Chophy highlighted the progress and status of the NSRLM in Zunheboto District and DDU-GKY/Skills development mainly focused on unemployed and drop-out youths. He also asserted that NRLM is progressing all over India and Nagaland is one of the top performing states. He appealed to the Village Councils and VDBs to extend full support to the mission.
Khukiye Sema, BDO cum BMM, Akuhaito Block also shared his experiences.
Hukiye Chishi, Area Coordinator (A/C), delivered vote of thanks and Pastor, Imlomi Baptist Church invoked blessings for the program. The sensitization program was attended along with Village Council Chairmans, GBs, VDB Secretaries, Church Leaders, STH members and existing SHG Leaders under Akuhaito Block.
RD Block Akuluto: The Block Level Sensitization programme on NSRLM at RD Block Akuluto, Zunheboto was held at Town Hall, Akuluto Town on October 20.
Shihani Tsuipu Block Program Manager Akuluto highlighted the overview of NRLM.
The BPM said that NRLM was launched as a restructured programme of Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) and Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY).
The BPM also emphasized the gender issues needed to be addressed in our society and stated that unlike previous programmes, NRLM is not only focused on SHGs promotion but on all round development. District Coordinator MIS Hiuto V Chophy highlighted the progress and status of NSRLM in Zunheboto District and DDUGKY/ Skills development.
The programme was attended by Village Council Chairman, GBs, VDB Secretaries, Church leaders, STH members, Students leaders and existing SHG leaders under Akuluto Block.
