Sainik School Punglwa conducts cross country competition

Peren, October 27 (MExN): An inter house cross-country competition was conducted at Sainik School, Punglwa on October 27.  

The event was flagged off by special guest, Lt Col Kiran Meitei, the officiating Principal of the school. Cross country run is an annual mega event that tests an individual’s mental and physical robustness, a press release stated.  

In this mega event, cadets of different houses were categorized in three groups.  

Group A comprising of class VI and VII, Group B comprising of class VIII and IX and Group C comprising of class X and XI for 3 km, 5 km, and 7 km run respectively.  

In Group A category, Cdt Sukmeshwor Kumar secured first position whereas in Group B, Cdt Ongkham Anch stood first. And in Group C, Cdt Tamar Mara secured the first position.  

Patkai house emerged as the overall winner of the competition followed by Melak house and Japfu house in the second and third positions.  

The special guest presented the trophy and medals to the winners.
