Punglwa, April 28 (MExN): In accordance with the tradition of the school, an investiture ceremony was conducted at Sainik School Punglwa on April 27. The ceremony was presided over by Brigadier HS Cheema, Commander, 44 Mountain Brigade.
As per the press release, on arrival to Sainik School Punglwa, Brigadier HS Cheema was received by Group Captain Sanjay Gaekwad, Principal Sainik School Punglwa. He was given a guard of honour by the Cadets of Sainik School.
A total of 39 cadets were reposed with the responsibility of school appointments, House Captains and House Vice Captains for 6 mother houses and 4 holding houses. These appointments are given to the Cadets who have excelled in their performance in various school activities. The appointment exposes them to inculcate leadership qualities for the smooth conduct of various activities, to espouse confidence and a sense of responsibility among them. Cadet Imeka Z Awomi of Class XII was appointed as the School Captain for the session 2016-17.
Brigadier HS Cheema also gave a motivational talk to the cadets of class X, XI and XII cadets besides his inspiring, motivating and exhaustive powerpoint presentation on life in Armed Forces and adventure activities. In the end the Chief Guest was presented with the Sainik School Memento by the Principal Sainik School Punglwa.
