DIMAPUR, JANUARY 14 (MExN): MLA, Y Vikheho Swu graced the cultural program of the Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) as its chief guest on January 13 at Tukuliqa, Ghathashi.

Speaking during the occasion, he stressed on the importance of holding on to the rich cultural practices and exhibitions.

While encouraging the young and capable minds to get into the business sector instead of depending on government jobs, he said that to bring any business or entrepreneurial work to fruition, one must be sincere, consistent and committed.

He further stressed on the dangers of human greed on the natural cycle of biodiversity. The excessive destruction of the forests, birds and animals disrupts the ecological pyramid and affects the ecosystem and it is the people who bear the brunt of it, Swu maintained.

While challenging the students and young minds, he mentioned that it is now time for the educated mass to give back whatever education he/she has received to the society and their respective villages. Coupled with education, one has the potential to effectively use the various schemes and sanctions made by the government in its effort to bring about proper communitisation, the MLA said.

Highlights of the programme included folk dances, folk songs, traditional fire-making, etc.
