SAKRABA, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The Sakraba Youth Organisation marked its 50th anniversary with a grand Golden Jubilee celebration on December 14, held at the Local Ground, Sakraba Town in Phek District.
The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, with Z. Lohe, former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, serving as the Chief Host. Vevoyi WD Vadeo and Dr Kuzonyi D Vadeo, ADC of Chumukedima, were honored as Host and Honored Host, respectively.
A press release received from the Sakraba Youth Organisation stated that the occasion provided an opportunity for community members to rekindle relationships with neighboring villages, passing down the values of unity and collaboration to younger generations. The gathering also embraced the forging of new bonds, reinforcing the significance of togetherness.
Several key moments marked the Jubilee celebration, including the inauguration of a new gate at the ground by Dr Kuzonyi D Vadeo, ADC of Chümoukedima. Additionally, the Jubilee Souvenir was released by Vevoyi WD Vadeo, while Z Lohe unveiled the Jubilee Monolith.
In his address, Chief Host Z. Lohe emphasized that true success is not measured by wealth or knowledge alone but by understanding and living in God’s love. He urged the gathering to focus on leaving a positive, lasting impact on future generations, cautioning against the dangers of pride and complacency.
Vevoyi WD Vadeo, in his speech, challenged the attendees to shift their perspective from a narrow, self-centered view to a broader, community-focused vision. He underscored the importance of reflecting on the rich history of their forefathers and embracing values of humility and hard work.
Dr Kuzonyi D Vadeo highlighted the importance of diligence and hard work in today’s competitive world, noting that there are abundant opportunities for those who are truly passionate.
The inaugural program was chaired by Kuhusheyi D Vadeo, Convenor of the Finance Committee, with opening prayers by Kuduhuto D Vadeo, Pastor of the Sakraba Baptist Church. The formal program, chaired by Lehu Lohe, Convenor of the Organising Committee, featured speeches from various leaders, including Nupoyi D Vadeo, President of the Sakraba Youth Organisation, and Niehusa Cukhamu VCC, who delivered the welcome address.
The event also saw cultural performances, including a special number from the Thipuzu Youth Organisation, and folk tunes by the Pfutseromi Youth Organisation and Rachu Khel, Viswema. Representatives from several other villages, including Thetsumi, Khulazu Bawe, Zelome, Jakhama, Razeba, Tsupfume, and many more, also attended, making the occasion a truly communal celebration.
The event culminated with a Golden Jubilee feast, leaving participants with fond memories and a renewed sense of community spirit.
