A Saksham Centre which was inaugurated at Kuhuboto.
Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): A Saksham Center was inaugurated at Kuhuboto Block with the objective of strengthening financial inclusion and expanding access to financial services for Self Help Group members under BMMU Kuhuboto.
The center has been established under the banner of UNIFY Cluster Level Federation and will function as a dedicated platform to provide various financial services to SHG members of the block.
Agnes Ezung, DC (FI), DMMU Dimapur, attended the programme as the special guest. In her address, she stressed the importance of effective utilisation of the Saksham Center to promote financial inclusion, particularly in Kuhuboto Block, which she said is considered one of the unbanked blocks. She stated that the Saksham Center will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between SHG members and formal financial institutions. She also urged the Saksham Manager to work with dedication and commitment and to ensure justice is done to the people of Kuhuboto Block by delivering quality financial services.
Chenton Konyak, Block Programme Manager, Kuhuboto Block, presented a brief overview of the NSRLM journey in Kuhuboto Block. He encouraged SHG members to actively avail bank credit linkage, enroll in social security schemes, and benefit from various pension schemes facilitated through the NRLM framework. He also reiterated the importance of financial discipline and regular engagement with banking services for sustainable livelihoods.
The programme also included addresses by Bank Sakhis and FLCRPs, who shared their experiences and highlighted the role of community resource persons in promoting financial literacy and financial inclusion at the grassroots level.
The welcome address was delivered by Zhevi Achumi, Area Coordinator (FI), who welcomed the dignitaries, SHG members and other stakeholders, and outlined the significance of the Saksham Center in empowering SHGs through improved access to financial services.
