The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), through its Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) under RD Block Wokha, launched a Saksham Centre at Old Riphyim Village on February 28.
The centre has been established under the aegis of the Englan Yingsung Women Livelihood Thrift & Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (EYELT&CCS) and was formally inaugurated by the President of the EYELT&CCS Ltd. Cluster Level Federation (CLF).
Speaking at the programme, officials highlighted that the Saksham Centre aims to bring essential financial services closer to rural households, reducing the need for villagers to travel to the district headquarters for basic banking and documentation services.
Thungchibeni Mozhui, Area Coordinator (Financial Inclusion), BMMU Wokha, provided an overview of the centre’s objectives. She stated that it will function as a one-stop facilitation hub for enrolment and renewal of social security schemes, opening and management of savings bank accounts, Aadhaar status mapping, mobile number updation, and related financial inclusion services.
During the event, Bima Sakhi shared her experiences, underscoring the positive impact of organised financial support systems at the village level.
Chumbenthung E Yanthan, Area Coordinator (Skills), encouraged the community to make active use of the facility to strengthen their financial security. He later proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of NSRLM, BMMU RD Block Wokha, SMMU Kohima and the Englan Yingsung Women Livelihood Thrift & Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
