Saksi NAP Sector 13th Ward serves ultimatum to power dept

Demands restoration of 33 KV transformer before July 7

Tuensang, June 27 (MExN): The public of Saksi NAP Sector 13th Ward, Tuensang have issued an ultimatum to the Chief Engineer of Power Department, Nagaland following failure to restore electricity in the ward. The letter demanded installation of the 33 KV transformer for the ward before July 7, 2016.  

The ultimatum was served through the Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang after the Power Department failed to respond to the ward’s earlier appeals regarding the issue. The ward had appealed to the department to install the transformer which has been “grounded” since March 19, 2016.

Meanwhile, the ultimatum letter issued by Saksi NAP Sector 13th Ward President, O. Somba Chang and Secretary, Lumtiba Sangtam lamented that the ward has been reeling under darkness for over three months. “We are unable to comprehend the inefficiency and lackadaisical attitude shown by the Power Department to address our genuine and rightful demand as, we are facing untold hardships,” it added.  

Mentioning that the letter has been forwarded with mass consensus of Saksi NAP Sector 13th Ward public, it warned that in case of failure to comply with the ultimatum, the public will be compelled to take own course of action.
