Salary demand: ANHTU to begin agitation on March 8

Kohima, March 6 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) will begin agitation on March 8, if the department fails to fulfill its demand to release pending salaries of CSS Hindi Teachers by March 7.  

The union had earlier issued an ultimatum to the Director, Directorate of School Education to release the pending salaries of CSS Hindi Teachers on or before February 10 and later extended the deadline to March 7.  

ANTHU through a press release issued by Ilika Aye, Convener, CSS Hindi Teachers and AS Yarthotngam, General Secretary, ANHTU has asked all the district representatives of CSS Hindi Teachers to prepare for the agitation as per the decision of February 28, 2017 meeting.  

The agitation will be carried out phase wise as follows:

•    March 8: All CSS Hindi Teachers will perform duty in their respective school wearing black badge as a sign of grievance against non-payment of salaries.

•    March 10: All CSS Hindi Teachers will agitate at every office of District Education Officer (DEO), Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) in non-violent manner with black badge.

•    March 15: All CSS Hindi Teachers will picket the Directorate of School Education in Kohima at 9:00 am. Therefore, all 1379 CSS Hindi Teachers have been requested to reach Kohima on March 14 without fail.
