‘Salary should be earned’- Yitachu

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 28 (MExN): Giving for a call for change in the attitude of the Nagas, Parliamentary Secretary Fisheries, Law and Justice Yitachu said that people of the State should ‘earn your salary and not receive charity.’ “People should work hard to earn their salary but when you don’t do your work sincerely and yet if you get your salary than that is only a charity”, Yitachu strongly passed across the message. 

He was addressing at the inaugural function of the two days workshop on September 28 at Brooder Fish farm, Dimapur. The workshop is held based on the theme ‘Value addition\ Fish product development’ and organised by the Department of Fisheries, Nagaland. Speaking as the Chief Guest he exhorted the farmers and other participants to work hard to have account of honest stories to share how they have undergone the process to produce their products.

Making an appeal to every people Yitachu said, “Whenever any department seek any information it is your obligation and duty to give the correct information. By doing so you are strengthening the department to help you better in the future.” He asserted on the need of discipline in any kind of profession. Also he said that ‘giving excuse for the time that is gone by will not help in achieving our dreams. But good time management will bring us inch by inch closer to our dreams.’ “Further, people should have the courage to face failure and must know what you are doing is positive, lawful and good,” he also added.

The resource persons are Dr. George Ninam (Senior Scientist), Dr. Rakesh Kumar (Senior Scientist) and Danish Prabha from Central Institute of Fisheries Department. Giving the keynote address Chairman address Dr. George Ninon said that CIFT under Indian Council of Agriculture in the premium mandate of fish harvest. Dr. K. Chuba IAS Secretary Fisheries was the chairman of the function.

In the technical session, the participants deliberated on introduction to fresh fish handling, low temperature preservation and value addition of fish. They were also taught about quality assessment of fresh fish by sensory evaluation, fish filleting, and preparation of ensilage from fish waste etc.
