Salesian College hosts 2nd Adivasi Yuva Sanmillan

Kohima, July 14 (MExN): Salesian College of Higher Education hosted 2nd Adivasi Yuva Sanmillan at its campus on July 14. Around 350 Adivasi youth from Singrijan, Chekiye A, Chekiye B, Lahorijan, Burma Camp, Borlengrijan, Lengrijan and Khatkhatti villages participated in the day long programme.


The programme included welcome song, welcome address by Fr Avay, Deputy director of Salesian College; prayer song; lighting of the lamp; prayer dance by Lahorijan village; speech by youth director of Salesian College, Fr Christudoss A; felicitation; presentation; song; theme song and talks by teachers Benedict, Nathaniel and Clement.


The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr Jonas Kerketta SDB, Media incharge of Salesian Province of Dimapur. In the afternoon, a talk was given by Fr CD Mathai SDB, vice-principal and the dean of Salesian College of Higher Education.


Cultural dances were performed by various Adivasi oratories: Lahorijan, Lengrijan, Khatkhatti, Borlengri, Burma camp, Chekiye, Singrijan, Garobasti and Chetranolla. The programme ended with the Adivasi common dance and prayer blessing.
