Salesian Province of Dimapur fetes Jubilarians

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): The Salesian Province of Dimapur (comprising the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Upper Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) feted nine Jubilarians at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on October 24.  

The nine Jubilarians were Fr. Mathew Ponnattil (Golden Jubilarian of Priesthood), Bishop Joseph Aind of Dibrugarh Diocese (Golden Jubilarian of Religious Profession/vows), Fr. Chazhisserril Stephen, Fr. Tinglung Francis, Fr. Puthettupadavil Philip, Fr. Pulinthanathumalayil Cyriac and Fr. Horo Kamil (Silver Jubilarians of Priestly Ordination), Fr. Lakra Rajesh and Brother Vadakkevettuvazhiyil Sunny Joseph (Silver Jubilarians of Religious Profession/vows).  

The music band of St. Mary’s School, Padumpukhri escorted the Jubilarians to the Don Bosco auditorium. Fr. Lakra Nazarius (Vice Provincial) welcomed the congregation. Bishop Joseph Aind, SDB DD presided over the Holy Eucharist. In the homily, Fr. Mathew Ponnattil highlighted that it was God who gives one a mission and the necessary grace to persevere in the service of God and His people. The Auxilium Convent choir enlivened the Eucharistic celebration.  

In the ensuing felicitation programme, Fr. Kuruvachira congratulated the Jubilarians and acknowledged them for their committed service to God and his people, stated a press release by Jonas Kerketta, Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur.  

The Jubilee song by St. Mary’s School Padumpukhri, the modern dance steps by Brothers of Salesian College, the choir piece (A Million Dreams) by Auxilium Convent, the audiovisual address by the media department of Dimapur Province, and Nepali Dance by DBHSS Dimapur were some of the presentations of the programme. Speaking on behalf of the Jubilarians, Fr. Horo Kamil thanked God, past superiors, the organizers and the host school as well as the congregation for their presence and prayerful support.
