Nagaland’s Women Resource Development and Horticulture minister, Salhoutuonuo Kruse today laid the foundation stone for construction of community hall at Mezo Basa village in Kohima district.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister assured all possible help to expedite the construction works of the community hall. The laying of the foundation stone for community hall coincides with 8th Mezo Basa Day.

Kruse thanked the people of Mezoma and Mezo Basa for their help and support, enabling her victory in the last state general election.

She further sought their support and cooperation to ensure that development comes to the area through collective efforts.

Stressing on the need to work together for the common good, the minister also called upon the people to exercise the feeling of oneness for all round development.

About Mezo Basa village
Mezo Basa village is located in Sechü Zubza circle of Kohima district. It lies around 12 km from state capital Kohima.

Highlighting a brief history of the village, Rovigwelhou Chüsi said that Mezo Basa was established in 2006 and officially recognized by the state government in 2009.

Inaugurated in 2011, the village has 127 households at present. However, the village still lack basic amenities, Chüsi informed.

Meanwhile, the Mezo Basa Village Council made a fervent appeal to the minister to take up the proposal for construction of Multi-Purpose Hall in the village.

Earlier, Mezo Basa Village Council chairman Kezhaselie K Kuotsu shared greetings. The programme was chaired by Mezo Basa village council secretary, Kezhalezo Khawakhrie while Zhavipietuo Kehie, pastor MBBC invoked God’s blessings.

Mezo Basa Youth and Mezoma Youth Organization presented folk songs.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Village Education Committee chairman, Khrielievi Chüsi.
