Salt Christian College marks 25th anniversary

Morung Express News Dimapur | November 25   Salt Christian College (SCC), Dimapur marked its 25th foundational anniversary with the college holding a celebratory programme on November 25. Organised under the theme, ‘Forward for Excellence’, the event had Rev. Mervyn Tan, Director of Harvest International Ministry, Singapore as the theme speaker.   Rev. Tan, in his address, shared the essence of the term ‘Jubilee’ stating, “It is a day of release and of forgiveness; of liberation to move forward for excellence.” Drawing parallel to ‘silver’, he said that the prized ore holds significance with it finding mention in the Bible. This, he added, signifies the 25 years of the SCC devoting to imparting education.   Stating that the 25 years journey has not been easy, he added, “But thanks to God” the SCC has been able to face and overcome challenges to reach this far.   Urging the students to face challenges in life while accepting Jesus, Rev. Tan asserted that in life nothing comes easy. “In life nothing is automatic and things do not come to us by co-incidence but is designed and planned by God.”   According to him, life is beset with challenges, which everyone goes through. He said that overcoming the challenges only makes the individual stronger and prepare for the challenges ahead, while he challenged the SCC to confront challenges honestly.   Founder Director of the SCC and SCC Teachers Education, Dr. M. Panger Longchar giving a brief history of SCC called on the students and faculty to acknowledge God’s authority and create confidence for new things.
