Kohima, January 27 (MExN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland today conducted community awareness and sensitization programme on inclusive education and other activities under the Mission at Kiphire town.

Speaking at the programme, Rahul Mali, IAS Additional Deputy Commissioner Kiphire reminded the community leaders that proper public awareness on various government schemes is critical for the public to avail benefits of government schemes.

He informed the participants that India is a country with young population having immense human resources as such efforts to improve holistic quality education is vital to provide employment avenues in future.

Mali also reminded the public leaders that about 12% of the state population are in  government  service where it has reached saturation point for further employment in the government sector.

He spoke on the need to expand vocational education in the state as per NEP 2020 to impart skill education to  increase employment opportunities for the youth in future.

Talking on NIPUN Bharat Mission to achieve Universal Foundational Literacy and Numeracy by 2026-27, he lamented the poor learning outcome as reflected in various reports such as NAS and ASER reports and urged the community leaders to take achieve part in ensuring quality education in schools.

He mentioned about various supports provided by the government for the children with various disabilities and urged the community leaders to spread awareness of such provisions to Community members.

Liyalo Apon, Deputy Mission Director Samagra Shiksha while delivering the keynote address spoke on the objectives of the programme and urged the Community leaders to spread the awareness of the Samagra Shiksha scheme to ensure that the students avail benefits as per the programme.

Deenabandhu Panda, District Education Officer Kiphire extended welcome address.  The officials from the State Mission Office Samagra Shiksha made power point presentation on Inclusive Education Vocational Education and pre- vocational education, Out of School Children as per RTE Act 2009 and NIPUN Bharat Mission.

The programme was attended by NGOs, students leaders, church leaders, women organization leaders, Village leaders, SMC & SMDC members, school heads and teachers.
