SAMETI conduct training for ATMA functionaries

Medziphema, March 22 (MExN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two days training programme on ‘Operational Guidelines of NMAET & Central Sector Extension Schemes’ for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema on March 20 and 21.  

Resource persons for the training program were Dr. I. Amenla, Director SAMETI & Principal IETC; Dr. Ithika C. Swu, Tiajungla Longchar, Vikaho Chophi and Sentinaro Longchar-Deputy Project Directors, SAMETI; and Alemba Jamir Agriculture Inspector, SNO cell (ATMA).  

The training covered theoretical sessions on SAMETI- Objectives and activities, Extension Education Institute (EEI) & MANAGE, Hyderabad-An overview, Innovative central sector Extension schemes- ACABC, PGDAEM; Cafeteria of activities at district level, Discussion/ interaction on Training & Demonstration; Guidelines on group formation viz., SHGs, FIGs, FSGs, FFs and Farm School, Discussion on some group success stories by districts; Organisational structure of Extension Reforms & ATMA with functions, Convergence with KVK, NGOs and other research stations & joint visits; NMAET- Funding pattern, salary and related issues, Monitoring & Evaluation, report writing, MPRs, impact study, innovative component, SMSP, SMAP, SMPP- Policy matters and way forward.  

Practical sessions covered topics on ICT Schemes & ITD components, e-governance, ERMS and Kisan call centre. The participants visited Unity SHG at Medziphema where they interacted with the SHG members about the group’s activities. They also went on a field trip to Pineapple farm school in Ruzaphema village under Medziphema block where there had interaction with the farm school teacher and beneficiaries of the school. This was followed by an exercise on farm school register maintenance.  

The training saw a good turnout of participants from all districts of the state and concluded with distribution of certificates to the trainees by the farm school teacher, Rokohebi Kehei.
