MEDZIPHEMA, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organized a two days training program on ‘Post Harvest Management & Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables’ for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema from October 21 to 22.

Resource persons for the training program were Vinika K Aomi, Post Harvest Technologist, Central Institute of Horticulture and Er Puteü Phesao, Director, Resource Team Pristine Foods. Topics on post harvest management of vegetables, post harvest processing, packaging and marketing of fruits and vegetables in Nagaland were covered during the training program.

Hands on demonstration for preparation of kiwi candy, goosberry wine and squash was done by Pristine Foods. A total of 22 participants from different districts attended the training. The  valedictory programme was chaired by Janet Chishi, Deputy Project Director, SAMETI; where the participants from all the districts had productive interaction with the resource person during the two days of the training session, while feedback on the training was given by C Amongla Jamir, BTM, Mokokchung and Mlato Swu, ATM, Dimapur.

Certificates were distributed to the trainees by Dr Watimongla Jamir, Director SAMETI and Principal IETC and Yezaho Swu, DPD SAMETI pronounced the vote of thanks.
