Thonoknyu, July 9 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Arikumba launched the flagship campaign Sampoornata Abhiyan at Peshu village in the Thonoknyu block in the presence of Ngayaipam Shimray, Young Professional, NITI Aayog on July 8. Representatives from 11 departments attended the launching function held at Peshu village, Thonoknyu.
Detailed presentations highlighting the flagship schemes and the progress made by each department, with the participation of seven village councils across Thonoknyu subdivision were made during the programme.

Vikhto Richa, SDO (Civil), Noklak and Nodal Officer of the Aspirational Block Programme, Thonoknyu, explained the six key performing indicators under the campaign and highlighted the action plan for saturation till September 30, 2024.
The Agriculture department reported that there are 1,274 beneficiaries under PM KISAN. They discussed the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), which provided training on food preservation in Thangoun and Peshu village. The Agriculture Officer emphasised the importance of villagers having accounts with the National Payment Corporation of India for direct benefit transfers and explained the detailed process of assistance. Till date most of the genuine farmers from the village do not have a Bank account. Additionally, he highlighted the primary and secondary crops of Thonoknyu block, focusing on Perilla and soybean crops.

The Health department presented various schemes benefit for pregnant women and mothers opting for institutional delivery. The CMO of Noklak discussed NIKSHAY (Mitra) for TB eradication, the Universal Immunization Programme, and family planning. At the Peshu Health sub-centre the health camp was setup where ANC registrations, family planning sterilizations, NCD screenings for hypertension and diabetes immunizations, OPD along with free medicines distribution were carried out.
The CDPO Thonoknyu, under ICDS and social welfare schemes, highlighted the significance of PMMY, supplementary nutrition, preschool education, and non-formal education. They also discussed old age, widow, and disability pension schemes, and the National Family Benefit Scheme.

The NSRLM team outlined the staff composition responsible for block functioning, the placement of community cadres, the number of functional VLOs, SHGs, and funds received. Till date there has been not a single successful bank linkage in Thonoknyu due to absence of bank at block leading to failure to deposit money and maintaining the account by SHGs.
The RD department reported that 64 households were completed under PMAYG, though most have not received the final installment due to geotagging challenges.
After the launch programme, departmental stalls displaying Horticulture, Agriculture, NSRLM, Social Welfare, DHEW, and Fishery produce were inaugurated by the DC Noklak.

Under the DHEW Department, in collaboration with Boditive India, Nagaland's first sanitary pad brand, sanitary pads were distributed to the adolescent girls in Peshu village. The main highlights of the stalls were the food prepared by Anganwadi workers which included Millet cake, rice popcorns, Job’s tear millet rice water and baskets made of corn seeds by SHGs of Peshu Village.
The DC Noklak concluded by emphasising the collaboration of all departments and following the action plan for the next three months. He highlighted the importance of bringing the entire DC office on the ground to help Peshu and nearby villages under Thonoknyu with on-the-spot Aadhaar card registrations and indigenous certificate signings on this launching day.
Aiming to saturate six indicators under Sampoornata Abhiyan, the DC Noklak emphasised the importance of cooperation between all the line departments present to assist those departments falling under the indicators to achieve saturation together.
The programme concluded with a pledge by Chairperson Tsiatsusie, SDO Civil, Thonoknyu, to transform Thonoknyu block from aspirational to inspirational.
