TUENSANG, JULY 18 (MExN): Sao Chang College, Tuensang, organised a special felicitation programme on Friday to honour its students who secured top ranks in the Nagaland University CBCS Examination 2025. The event was held at the college’s Multi-Purpose Hall in the presence of dignitaries, community leaders, faculty and students.
Minister for Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashangmongba Chang, attended the function as the special guest. He was accompanied by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa; Tonchinglemla, Women Leader of PBC 3rd NAP BN Church; the Commandant of 3rd NAP Battalion Tuensang; the President of USLP; and office bearers from Mandal, Mahila and Yuva 53 A/C Tuensang Sardar-1, CWS, SSU Tuensang Town and CSU Tuensang Town.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa congratulated the toppers and underlined the importance of education, encouraging students to work hard and believe in themselves, irrespective of their background. Both the DC and the Minister acknowledged the efforts of the college administration, faculty and staff in nurturing academic excellence.
A key highlight of the programme was the presentation of certificates and cash awards to university toppers, along with the Academic Excellence Award for overall performance in the college and the Student of the Year Award. Bashangmongba Chang personally felicitated all seven university toppers with cash awards of Rs 10,000 each.
In his address, the Minister emphasised that success comes through dedication and determination, urging students to rely on merit and reminding them that earning a degree is just the beginning of a larger journey.
The programme concluded with a prayer for the awardees led by Tonchinglemla and a vote of thanks by Dr Lal Veda Chandra Kumar, Vice Principal of the college.
The event marked a proud celebration of academic achievement and reaffirmed Sao Chang College’s commitment to student excellence and community empowerment.
