Tuensang, August 18 (MExN): Sao Chang College organized a one day entrepreneur awareness programme to inspire and equip aspiring entrepreneurs with essential skills. Supported by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong, and the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, the event aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurial education.
Dr. Lanurenla, Principal of Sao Chang College, opened the event with a welcome address, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurial education and encouraging participants to make the most of the resources available. Following this, A Chubasangla Chang, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre at the college, discussed the program's objectives and the significance of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset in today’s fast-paced world.
The program began with participants sharing their business ideas, setting a collaborative tone for the day. The first technical session was led by Aochuba Jamir, a Post Graduate Teacher at Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang. He explored different business models and their practical applications.
In the second session, Yanger Kichu, Farm Manager of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang, highlighted the entrepreneurial potential in Northeast India, particularly in Nagaland. He pointed out key growth areas such as agriculture, handicrafts, and eco-tourism.
The third session, led by Takumpuba Lomou, Assistant Professor of English at Sao Chang College, focused on effective sales and marketing strategies, offering practical approaches for reaching customers and building a strong brand.
Around 40 prospective entrepreneurs, including students, local business owners, and start-ups, participated in the event, engaging in discussions and networking throughout the day. The program was chaired by Lemkhaba, Assistant Professor of Education at the college, ensuring the event proceeded smoothly.
The day concluded with a vote of thanks from Tononaro Chongpho, Assistant Professor of Sociology, who expressed gratitude to the sponsors, speakers, and participants. The event successfully provided a platform for learning and networking, equipping participants with the insights needed for their entrepreneurial journeys.
