Tuensang, August 29 (MExN): The Department of Botany, Sao Chang College, Tuensang organized a one day state level webinar (online seminar) on the topic, ‘Impact of COVID-19 on the Environment’ on August 28 with Dr Latonglila Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Nagaland University as the resource person.

During the session, Dr Latonglila spoke on the various environmental impacts caused by the COVID-19 such as the impact on air quality, water quality, biodiversity, noise level, waste management, energy and on socio-economic environment.

Tekameren Walling, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, SCC was the host of the programme and Dr S Arenla, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, SCC introduced the resource person to the participants. The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Tongpangkokla Chang, Assistant Professor, & HoD, Department of Botany, SCC.

A press release issued by M Shiu, Convener, HoD, Media Cell, SCC, Tuensang stated that all together 100 people across the state comprising of university professors, college principals, associate professors, assistant professors, PGTs, school teachers, research scholars and post graduate and undergraduate students took part in the programme.
