Pungro, December 10 (MExN): The 10th edition of Saramati Soccer Championship 2018, organized by Saramati Nexus Club, kicked off today at public ground Pungro town.
The inaugural match was played between Faith Ballers Phuvkiu and Sun Rise Club former defeated the latter by 4-0.
Altogether, 15 teams will be participating for 6 days tournament. Earlier, the inaugural function was graced by Mechanical Engineer LHEP, Er. Hom Bahadur Khaki, on behalf of Director NEC, Energy Pvt. Ltd. Sapu Bhattacharyya.
In his message, the director acknowledged the organizer for promoting and creating platform for the youths of Pungro Sub- division and expressed hope that, the Saramati Nexus Club will continue to guide the sportsmen so as to compete in the state level.
Er. Hom also stressed on the importance of discipline as a sportsman.
The keynote address was delivered by convenor SNC, S. Shojiba while invocation prayer was pronounced by pastor PTBC Yimto. The inaugural programme was attended by host of delegates representing from various NGOs and departmental HoDs.
