14th edition of Saramati Soccer Championship 2022 kicked off at Pungro Town.
Pungro, December 10 (MExN): The inaugural programme of 14th edition of Saramati Soccer Championship 2022 kicked off at Pungro Town. T Yangseo Sangtam, Deputy Speaker, NLA, Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as special guest, Saramati Nexus Club (SNC) stated in a press release.
The Deputy Speaker NLA in his speech asserted the gathering on the importance of Sports and encouraged the youth to focus on sports as it also ushers’ unity among the people. Acknowledging soccer as one of the most popular and known category of sport in this era, he congratulated all the players and teams for actively taking part in the tournament and stated that the players need to inculcate 3 D’s: Discipline, Determination and Dedication.
Mhomo Tungoe, ADC Pungro in his address stressed on the importance of sports as it also brings forth the ingraining of discipline in all aspects.
Throngso, President, SNC delivered the keynote address while Rev Fr Peter Pithungo, Parish Priest, St Paul Parish Pungro said the invocation and Alenkimi, Winner, Stargazer Solo Contest 2022 presented a song. The programme was chaired by Adilen Yim, General Secretary SNC.
