SARDP two-lane: NCSU Phek discourages subletting work

Phek, April 30 (MExN): The Phek unit of Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has discouraged all the contractors awarded works for the two-lane project under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme (SARDP), specifically the firms undertaking works in Phek district, not to sublet the works.

“The NCSU Phek district will discourage those successful firms desirous of subletting the works and whereas if at all necessary it should come to our knowledge beforehand,” stated a press release from NCSU Phek district president, Kuzhosheyi Alex and general secretary, Razou Lohe.

“In case of substandard works or incomplete works due to resultant subletting, those firms responsible for subletting will be held accountable,” it asserted.

Further, the NSCU unit discouraged any form of demands from the contractors and appealed to all parties or groups to refrain from any type of demands. “The union will not compromise on workmanship and ensure that the prescribed specification are adhered and therefore no such demands will be entertained,” the release added.

The NCSU Phek district further sought cooperation from all contractors as well as public/ NGOs/ groups so as to ensure quality workmanship and successful completion of the project.

Reminding the participating firms and all concerned that the public have “felt the pinch” from the last failed project, it sought vigilance from all end and further reminded that it will supervise the works so they are carried out smoothly and without any unwanted disturbances.
