Sargam Cultural Association, NEZCC organise Rabindra Utsav in Dimapur

Participants and officials during the ‘Rabindra Utsav 2026’ organised in Dimapur on May 31.

Dimapur, June 1 (MExN): The Sargam Cultural Association, in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, organised ‘Rabindra Utsav 2026’ in Dimapur on May 31.

A press release received here stated that around 124 participants from Nagaland and Assam took part in the Rabindra Sangeet and Rabindra Nritya competitions across group A, B, and C categories during the festival.

 

The morning session saw GK Rengma, President of Dimapur Naga Council, as the special guest. Special invitees included LK Peter Anal, General Secretary of Dimapur Naga Council; K Atovi Sumi, former MLA and advisor to Sargam; Mahavir Jain, advocate and advisor to Sargam; and KK Paul, President of Dimapur Bangali Samaj.

The evening session was graced by Dr M Chuba Ao, National Vice President of BJP, Nagaland, as the guest of honour. Special invitees included Michael Kath, General Secretary of Dimapur Nagaland Students Union (DNSU); Tesiding Newmai, speaker of DNSU; and Kevin Gonmei, Secretary (Education) of DNSU.

 

A special felicitation programme was also held. Sreoshi Acharjee, a Class 12 Arts topper across all three streams at Kendriya Vidyalaya Project Sewak, Dimapur, was felicitated by Dr M Chuba Ao.

Additionally, Sneha Pandit and Sneha Bhattacharjee were felicitated by judge Simati Sen Poddar and judge Smt. Sharmila Choudhary for attending a National Bharatnatyam Workshop at Guwahati organised by NEZCC under the guidance of Kamal Acharjee.
