A 10-member delegation from Nagaland University's School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus, comprising of four faculty and six research scholars, led by Prof N Tiameren Ao, HoD, Dept of Plant Pathology, SAS: NU, Medziphema Campus, attended the National Conference and Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS) Zonal Meet at College of Agriculture (COA), Agartala.

AGARTALA, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): A 10-member delegation from Nagaland University's School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus, comprising of four faculty and six research scholars, led by Prof N Tiameren Ao, HoD, Dept of Plant Pathology, SAS: NU, Medziphema Campus, attended the National Conference and Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS) Zonal Meet at College of Agriculture (COA), Agartala, from September 26-28.
A press release informed that the event brought together scientists, academicians, and policymakers from across India and Bangladesh to discuss pressing issues in agriculture, innovation, and sustainability. The conference featured oral and poster presentations across various thematic areas.

At the conference, Nagaland University research scholars stole the limelight, securing top honors in their categories. Nitisha Chettri, Dept of Horticulture, SAS: NU, Fivaline War, and Chumchanbeni Ngullie, Dept of Plant Pathology, SAS: NU were awarded with the Best Oral Presentation Award in Horticultural Sciences and Crop Protection. Tasnim Majumder, Dept of Genetics & Plant Breeding, SAS: NU received the Best Poster Presentation Award in Crop Science and Crop Production.
Besides, Dr. Niranjan Kumar Chaurasia, Asst Prof, Dept of Genetics & Plant Breeding received the Best Oral Presentation Award while Dr Nayan K Adhikary, Scientist, AICRP Vegetables received the Best Poster Award.
During the inaugural function, Prof Bireswar Sinha, faculty of Plant Pathology, SAS, NU, had his edited book 'Cereal Diseases' released by Governor of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu.
