Sashimongla Sangtam conferred ‘DRE Woman of the Year’ award

Sashimongla Sangtam being conferred the “DRE Woman of the Year” award during the IDRES 2026 held at in New Delhi on February 11.

New Delhi, February 14 (MExN): In a proud and inspiring moment for Nagaland, Sashimongla Sangtam , the Founder of A&D Solar Enterprise was conferred the prestigious “DRE Woman of the Year” award at the recently concluded India Distributed Renewable Energy Summit (IDRES) 2026, organised by CLEAN and supported by MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) in New Delhi from February 9 to 11. 

An update received here stated that Sangtam competed among distinguished professionals and entrepreneurs from across India, highlighting both her personal dedication and the growing presence of Nagaland in the national clean energy landscape. 

Likewise, it maintained that the recognition acknowledges her leadership in expanding decentralised renewable energy solutions for livelihood generation among women, persons with disabilities (PwDs), and vulnerable communities in Nagaland. 

At the same time, it informed that A&D Solar has enabled income generation, reduced energy costs, and improved productivity for grassroots entrepreneurs through solar dryers, off-grid power systems, and clean energy support for micro-enterprises. 

The work integrates technology deployment with basic training and after-sales service, demonstrating how decentralised solar can drive inclusive development and climate-resilient livelihoods in the Northeast, the press release stated.

“The “DRE Woman of the Year” award is a testament to her vision, perseverance, and leadership in a sector that is rapidly shaping India’s future. Her accomplishment stands as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women in the Northeast, demonstrating that determination and forward-thinking leadership can create meaningful impact on both local and national levels,” it asserted. 

Further, it stated that this recognition marks a significant milestone for A&D Solar Enterprise and serves as a proud moment for Nagaland’s renewable energy community as it continues to contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
