CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MAY 1 (MExN): The inaugural of the 27th Annual School Week of School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus was held on May 1 with Col. Vikrant Gupta, Commandant 7th Assam Rifle, Medziphema, as the chief guest.
Col. Vikrant Gupta, in his speech, lauded the students’ union, SAS, for organizing the event; and encouraged the young sportspersons to learn lessons of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, fair play, passion for excellence and perseverance.
He opined that the students should be grateful to their parents and to their teachers, because without their support and guidance, the students would be bereft of so many essential requirements for personal development and growth. He was particularly happy that the SAS: NU encouraged such sports and cultural events because academic alone is not enough for all round development of the individual.
Prof L Daiho, Dean, SAS: NU, Medziphema Campus gave the welcome address and invocation prayer was offered by Manpha Konyak, President, EU:SAS. A special number was presented by Waluden & friends, 1styear, BSc (Hons) Ag. and a special violin musical piece was played by Eshonthung Ngullie, MSc 1st year, Dept of Agronomy, SAS:NU. Vote of thanks was given by Azuto Yepthomi, general secretary, SU: SAS.
