It is yet to hear existence of Satanic Church in Nagaland. However, it cannot be ruled out that some satanic influenced activities going on in the state underground. It was very concerned and good of Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo who recently brought to light that there are as many as 3000 devil worshippers in the state capital town, Kohima. Sharing his personal experience he said to have come across many young people living under the bondage of the devil and devil worshipping which brings confusion, and destroying the beauty of Jesus Christ. This is not a matter to be taken lightly!
There are Hindu Temples, Mosques for the Muslims, Gurduwaras for the Sikhs etc. in almost all the sizeable towns in Nagaland. But these are all normal worshipping places for the respective communities. They are not to be mistaken. In a secular country like ours, there is freedom of worship for every citizen. In this respect Nagaland state with overwhelming Christian population- above 95% Christians, can proudly claim as most secular state in the country. In spite of overwhelming Christian majority there has not been any communal related incidents in the known history of the state. How good and beautiful will India be if all states are as secular as Nagaland in letter and in spirit as enshrined in the Constitution?
Satanic church would mean something quite different than the normal worshipping places which may have started functioning underground as of now to come over ground at appropriate time for the followers. Every unguarded moment is under serious and careful watch by Satan! Satan‘s power and wisdom is next only to Almighty and omniscient God. He knows the weaknesses of every Christian. On one’s own, every Christian is an easy prey for Satan. Many Christians, even the elects have failed! Why failed? Failed because of not putting on the whole armour of God. Those who could withstand the wiles of Satan by putting on the whole armour of God have proved Satan wrong and glorified God.
Satan has invaded many churches and associations of churches creating confusions, mutual mistrust, division among the church leaders/workers resulting in the splitting of churches etc. Here the pertinent question is how could Satan do all these evil works when there is no established satanic churches and associations of churches. Satan has no ordained ministers, pastors, missionaries, church workers etc. Nothing is known about fund raising activities by Satan for his works to mislead the Christians against God. But today if there is a system of taking spiritual census to find out the percentage of God’s followers and Satan followers in the real sense of the term, the difference of the percentage may be very discouraging for the Christians. Could Satan be extending his kingdom at the expensive of our churches and association of churches?
Many called Nagaland as ‘Christian State’ and take pride of it. To the understanding of this writer, Nagaland , the 16th state within Indian union is just a secular state like any other states as of now. India is a secular country. Nagaland is one of the federating units of the quasi-federal India. Therefore, it would be constitutionally inappropriate to call Nagaland a ‘Christian State’ which would mean a ‘Theocratic State’. Some constitutional experts may throw the correct light into this assertion.
‘Nagaland for Christ’, this holy-sounding declaration also needs rethinking over from Biblical perspective. The name of the state ‘Nagaland’ is a political status of the state. Simple logic is that the whole universe is His creation. Without HIM was not anything made that was made. So, the declaration which is holy- sounding may not be pleasing to Christ because Christ wants and calls the Sinful Nagas to turn to him but not the state which is just a political status.
