SAYO, Tourism dept to make Hornbill festival 2019 plastic free

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 4 (MExN): In connection to the Nagaland Government banning single use plastic, the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) in collaboration with the Tourism department will endeavour to make Hornbill Festival 2019 a plastic free and a zero waste festival.
In a press statement, SAYO informed that the tourism department has authorized its members to strictly monitor the use of plastic during the Hornbill festival at Kisama. The list of banned plastic include polythene bags, transparent plastic packaging, water bottles (below 20 litres), tetra pack juice bottles (below 1 litre), sweets/chips/noodles/pan masala packages, plastic/thermocol plates, cups, spoons etc, plastic tarpaulins & plastic rope, plastic wrappings & IMFL. In this connection, the Organization has requested all the participants and visitors to adhere to the Government order. The defaulters shall be penalized as per the law.
